I have recently turned on FlaggedRevisions and now information pertaining to this is printing on the first page of the PDF.

'''Solution:''' The revision information will not show up if FlaggedRevs is disabled. The position of the page numbers is set in you PDF Template. Have a look at the definition of "#bs-runningfooterright" in your styles.css and at the margin boxes (e.g. "bottomright") in your page.css
When I'm trying to create PDFs, I get an error message and no PDF is created. Actually, a PDF is created with 0 kb file size. This worked beautifully until the IT did some patches to the server.

'''Solution:''' If the server can not be started / is not running then this is a problem. Please check the following:
1. Find the "Tomcat Service Manager" icon in the system tray of your task bar (bottom right)
2. Right click it and choose "Configure"
4. Check if the path that is set in "Java Virtual Machine" points to an existing file
5. If not find the appropriate file in your file system (there has probably just a version number changed) and set the path
6. Save the settings and try to restart the server
Unfortunately the "start" attribute of a
element is not recognized by the underlying rendering library. The official discussion board suggests to use CSS counters [1]. I did not test it, but it should look like this:
... This assumes that you have a custom counter calles "list-item". You will need some additional CSS like described in [2]. A good place for it would be the wikipage "MediaWiki:Common.css". I had a user send me a PDF that he created after he made some changes to the content, saved the page and then opened the PDF. The PDF did not contain the changes he had just made. I thought he wasn't saving the file. I went into the page, verified that the actual content was was he wanted and sure enough, he was correct. I did some testing: I created a test page, copied the content from his user page into it and created a PDF. I worked fine. I then made some changes, saved the page and created another PDF and it did not show my changes, but showed the original content. So now, I'm really confused. I then, went back to his user page and deleted all the content, saved the page, and then created a PDF (thinking that it would be blank). BUT, the PDF showed the content that I had just deleted. HOW COULD THAT HAPPEN??? I cleared my cache and it was still happening. I made sure that the page break code was correct (in fact, we have been using that for months now and it was working fine). I tried using the Firefox browser and the same behavior! This behavior has just been happening since we installed the BS upgrade. Solution: bug, fixed(patch)

'''Error:'''
I have been trying to create page templates, and I can, but the templates that are presented during page creation, are red letter templates, and the template is empty at the page creation stage.

'''Solution:'''
This is a known bug in 2.23.3 [1]. You will need to update BlueSpiceExtensions to latest REL1_23 branch state (not released as tarball yet). You can find the download here: https://extdist.wmflabs.org/dist/extensions/BlueSpiceExtensions-REL1_23-d78d922.tar.gz You will have to recreate the page templates as the error already got written to the DB. Alternatively you can try to fix the DB entries in bs_pagetemplate.pt_template_title (Remove namespace prefix). [1] https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/295888/

'''Error:'''
Since 2.23.2 there is a field missing at the Template creation prompt. It is missing "Template Namespace" field. It is still missing in BS Version 2.27.0.

'''Solution:'''
I believe this is a misunderstandig. We changed the input field of "Template" to be a combinded "namespace and title" field.

If you click on the arrow you will be provided with a list of namespaces. Select one (if not shown initially try typing a fre letters into the textfield) and type the name (or part of the name) of the title after the colon. It will autocomplete on what you type. Try typing "Template:some". That should list you all pages from namespace "Template" that contain the word "some".

This problem has been fixed in BlueSpice 2.23.1
'''How it works''' The first step to set permissions is to set them in the first folder for the whole wiki (*). The permissions you set for a group, will be set automatically for the following folders, for the wiki and all namespaces (green coloured - not checked). If you want to give the groups more/different permissions - maybe in different namespaces - you can select them manually, but if you do that, the other groups, in the same hierarchy level, lose that permission for the namespace you choosen.

Here is what I see during template creation at the attached file. As you can see the "Template namespace" dialogue is missing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

'''Error:'''
Marketing would like us to modify the wiki background and replace the background image with an image that is one of ours.
As the admin, I opened the active skin, highlighted it and the skin preview appeared. I uploaded a new background image and saved. The first time I did it, a message appeared to save a file called "api.json". It saved in my downloads folder. I'm not sure what this is and where I should put it.
Could you please tell me how to modify the background image for my "NewSkin" so that it pulls the new graphic?

'''Solution:'''
You can modify your background image with Flexiskin (https://help.bluespice.com/index.php/FlexiSkin) just upload the image there, save and activate your new created skin.
(IE-Problem - work with Chrome and Firefox)

'''Error:'''
I've tried multiple fresh installs of mediawiki and bluespice but have not been able to get flexskin to work at all. What i'm doing is simply trying to add a background. The images directory has correct permissions as suggested in the installation procedure. I got no error messages but what happens is I click browse to upload an image(png) and then click upload to upload it. Nothing appears to happen. The background doesnt change and the Background image field is empty.
responsibleeditors-takeresponsibility - Only users with this permission will show up in the list of available responsible editors in the "Change responsibility" dialog
You assign a user as responsible editor to a page --> he, and only he, can edit the page if the "edit" permission is set for responsible editors in "WikiAdmin > Preferences > Responsible Editors"

'''Solution:''' You have 2 options here
1. The user writes on the talk page of the article directly. He needs permissions to edit the talk namespace and it would be best if the responsible editor hat the talk page on his "watchlist". You may also assign the responsible editor to both, the acutal page and the corresponding talk page. In this case the RE does not need the talk page on his watchlist as he gets notified on changes anyway.
2. The user writes to the talk page of the responsible editors puser page (User_talk namespace). It can easily be accessed by following the RE link in the statebar. In this case all Requests are on a single place for the RE to manage. But the requesting user would need to provide a backlink/reference to the article he want's to be changed.

'''Error:''' All those who suggested changes gets notified via email when updated page is good to go.

'''Solution:''' As page and talk page are completely independent from each other there is no easy way to have a notification be sent to a user that has only contributed to the talk page but not to the page itself. The requesting user would need do add the page to his watchlist manually.

'''Error:''' We’re trying to clean up some GEPs and get rid of ones we don’t need any longer. Can we do this by using only these permissions? If so, what exact permissions do they need? Also, is there a way to just do this with a specific page only? OR do we assign a responsible editor and then have them take it through a review using Workflow? Is there a better way to do this?

'''Solution:''' The Wiki is a "document workspace". If you want to get rid of a page of a part of a page, just delete it. The permissions always apply to namespaces (and in case of permissions set by RE settings also on pages). I think, if every GEP is modeled as a single page you should just have a review workflow be run on each of them. Your reviewers can then decide whether to keep or remove it.

'''Error:''' Users without a username cannot read the wiki.

'''Error:'''
"I experience trouble in edit mode (&action=edit) since I installed BlueSpice. Out of edit mode everything looks fine. When in edit mode of any page it looks like some CSS of the template is not loaded. Testing another template (vector) has the same behavior. There is no difference if VisualEditor is enabled or not. The VisualEditor itself looks fine and works. To make sure there is no complication with other extensions I set up a clean fresh MediaWiki installation without any extensions and then installed BlueSpice - same behavior. I tried different up to date browsers on different clients - same behavior. I checked Apache2 and PHP logs - logs are clean."
'''Solution:'''
"I have found a solution. We were ignoring the Suhosin-message during the installation. Setting suhosin.get.max_value_length = 2048 (php.ini) solved this issue."
