What is BlueSpiceCategoryManager?[edit | edit source]

BlueSpiceCategoryManager is a special page. You will find the category management administration interface in the main menu under "Global Actions" in the "Administration" area (visible only to admins).

Where to find

It provides a user interface for managing categories on the wiki.

Using BlueSpiceCategoryManager?[edit | edit source]

BlueSpiceCategoryManager can be located in "Global settings" in left navigation, under section "Management".

Creating a new category[edit | edit source]

To create a new category, click the green "Add" button above the list. You can enter the name of the new category using an input field. This is then sorted into the alphabetical folder of the list.

Move Category

New categories can be created by clicking "Plus" button. This will open a dialog, that will, after entering category name, create the category.

Deleting a category[edit | edit source]

Moving Category can be deleted by:

  • selecting a category
works in category management using the drag-and-drop principle. Drag the category to the destination folder with the mouse.

  • and clicking delete button above the category list
  • clicking delete button inside the category line in the list once the category is selected

Moving a category[edit | edit source]

To remove a category, select it and click the red "remove" button above the list.

This action deletes both the corresponding category page and removes the category's assignments to the wiki articles.

Order of categories can be changed by dragging and droping categories in the list. This is achieved by clicking and, while holding down the mouse button, dragging the category up or down.

In this way, category hierarchy can also be changed. By droping a cetegory over another category (instead of in between two categories) will create a subcategory of a category over which it was droped.
