What is Authors?[edit | edit source]
Authors displays pictures of editors right at the end of each article extension displays all of the user who have contributed to the article. They are displayed at the bottom of the article, in the form of their user images/avatars.
Usage / Features[edit | edit source]
Uploading a profile image:
- Logged in users can upload a profile picture via their user page.
- A user can only upload or change his or her own picture.
At the end of the article, the images of the authors are displayed according to the following rules:
Every user can control what image will be displayed as their image in the list of authors, by changing their profile image. For more about user profile images read Here
If user has not uploaded an image, its personalized avatar will be shown.
IfIn case the user
is anonymous (not logged in) or user was deleted awho has contributed to the page is not registered/logged in, it was deleted since it made the contribution, or is for any other reason non-existant, image with yellow question mark will
appear in the profile picturebe displayed.
Additional functions:
- When the mouse hovers over the picture, the username will be shown.
- Clicking on the picture leads the user to the author's user page.
- On special pages the profile pictures will not be displayed.
- To see the profile pictures read permissions are required.
- The behavior switch in the wiki text deactivates the function Authors for a single page.
Special page for the configuration:
- Select the number of authors displayed.
- Deactivate the extension Authors in the wiki.
By hovering over the image of an author, its username will be displayed and clicking the image will lead to that user's page.
Configuration[edit | edit source]
Number of authors displayed, and if authors will be displayed at all, can be configured on BlueSpice preferences page (Special:BlueSpice preferences). In case there are more contributors to the page than the limit allows to be shown, icon representing "more" will be shown.
Displaying Authors can also be achieved for a single page by placing behaviour switch on the page.
Rights (permissions)[edit | edit source]
This extension does not require any special rights. All users have "read" permission for the article can also see the authors of that article.

Authors requires BlueSpice Foundation and Avatars.
